| I also found a couple of nice items - both military - pertaining to the French Levant: | |||||||||||||||||||

| First, a registered envelope to France from the French Military Mission Secteur 600 (Beyrouth) with a 40c Merson, a 20c brown cameo sower, and a "SECTEUR 600" registered label all tied by "TRESOR ET POSTES 600" date stamps. I thought this was a pretty neat find. | |||||||||||||||||||

And then I found this censored mourning cover. It was sent to Beyrouth bearing six 25 on 5c and one 50 on 10c OMF (Occupation Militaire Francaise) stamps. Violet octagonal El-Chevir (Beyrouth) date stamps tie them to the cover. Alep censor and routing marks of Alep and Beyrouth are on the back. I thought this was a pretty wild piece, even with the tape stains. | ||||||||||||||||||
